Making the conversion from an MS1850 Deadbolt fitted with a 4089 Exit Indicator to a 4500 or 4700 Deadlatch presents a difficult problem when it comes to mounting the inside handle or paddle. The lower mounting hole of the handle/paddle falls into the void left by the exit indicator preparation. Adams Rite has developed an adaptor plate kit to cover this preparation and allow for proper mounting of the handle or paddle. The steel adaptor plate is first secured to the stile section and the handle is then mounted to the adaptor plate.
