Geared continuous hinges are designed to last the life of a building by distributing the weight of a door along the entire length of its frame. The unique design reduces the high amount of stress normally associated at the top of the door and frame on butt hinge applications. Not only does this reduce hinge failure, it also keeps a door in constant alignment, eliminating the chance of door sag. These characteristics make continuous hinges suitable for high-use and high-traffic doors. This particular lock is a heavy duty, full mortise-narrow frame leaf, narrow door leaf, 95" in length, EPT Prep, right handed, standard location and finished in Satin aluminum.

The two are held in place by a full length cover channel and rotate on a series of bearings. All of these hinges are certified to ANSI 156.26, Grade 1 and UL10C (90 minute), and offers support on various applications, including swing clear, wide throw and electrified. Designed to keep the door in constant alignment and eliminate door sag. Features a cover channel which holds together two separate gear sections, providing a visually pleasing solution.
